That's not 100% true but near to if talking about hobbies.

 

On 24-25th march we had the most exciting overall cosplay experience.

Saturday I joined the other side of Duo Sabaudo: Garethjax. Together we facd the travel to  Milano where Cartoomics was waiting for us. The venue had a big enhancement Vs previous year and (WOW) it was that huge!

 

I would let costumes speak for me; on Saturday our Friend Orko did come back on the scenes, while on Saturday it was the turn of Prince Endymion. That was not all falks! Mostriciattoli were released on the stage and singed so powerful cartoons them songs. Here we are!!!

 

 

 

...and here we go with Anime in Plexiglass Torino! We have been playing so loud recently! Rock 'n Roll!

hahaha... it doesn't mean that anything wrong happened; I just had to go and take a business trip which brough my away from this special cosplayer convention.

 

Despite of that I was able to take my Riddler to another convention held in Novegro; here you are with him ;)

 

 

Where did I go in the middle of a hearbeat?

The main reason for which I smoked the fume (hahahah) is due to a recent chance related to our business goals; as a consequence, I had to travel to Tel Aviv.

Happy to say that despite of what lots of you were talking about... (well, you know what) everything was REALLY good and CALM there. You would be surprised in discovering how Israelian people are that similar to us, indeed.

The land you go, jet leg you find!     

It’s the 3^rd time in the current year I face my friend of above and I dare say I’m starting to get used.

Despite the tricks I try to get rid of it, that friend always comes and say hallo at the very first hours in the morning to remind me I am from a foreign country.

Today I will defeat any previous result: woken up at 2.30 am!

 

Oh dear, I almost forgot to say I had a good travel; a two step flight (Torino-Frankfurth-Tokyo) lead me to this land of the rising sun (actually it still has to come out from beneath the clouds since it’s cold and raining). Obviously Lufthansa was proud to offer me a Japanese style meal and breakfast!

 

Saturday 25 Nov was spent in part to realize I did it! It was one of my life goals to come here for business purposes; a goal since the time I was getting degreed at the university. I did it and… let’s go now!

 

The residence I am in is in Tokyo Minato-Ku(http://www.asahihomes.co.jp/e/hotels/cama/index.html), a very central place of the city which has not a real center (better say it’s made from different cities and any of them has its own).

From here I can easily get to the Metro in a 5 minutes walk and, believe me, it’s much better than having a Taxi run even thought the company would pay the charge: subways are much faster and, most of all,  you can take control of the situation.

 

Public transportations could be dedicated a long speech about their efficiency, but it’s not what I am going to do right now.

 

What is a cosplayer going to do when coming here? I have a long list of things to be done, in part was sent to me by Robbbé (hey, how long did it take you to put all this stuff together?), in part from other friends; the rest comes from my mind.

First step is taken in Shibuya, the most cosplayful part of Tokyo: elegant and full of people. Let’s get focused on my first purpose here: toys! Ramona told me there is a shop  chain called Mandarake which would satisfy my taste. God, sometimes stairs down in the underground lead to paradise instead (someone, would call me “bastardo” much more that what he has done until now if he could just imagine it, Sidis?); there was a little writing and an even smaller entrance you wouldn’t dare to get in. I will post the pictures of my conquest as soon as I find a USB cable.

 

Freeway! Sunday dinner was spent in Ueno Hard Rock Café; a particular occasion to celebrate all Bee Hive and their groupies, Magnifici16 and Anime in Plexiglass.

 

Maffrend! It already took me about one hour to write this down so “only” 4 hours are remaining to get ready to go for my entrance in Motorola Japan. I think I will eat something now.

After an non mesurable period of time I've finally found out a way to upload MY OWN mp3 files one the WEB.

Actually Acchan teached me how to do that (THX).

Looks like in the most recent period I almost didn't have enough time to breath.

Hahahaha, that's exactly what I call "live your life".

Some years ago I had the chance to fall in love with a movie about a brand new rock star. In its soundtrack there is a song saying:

 

    Got a ticket for a ride, never stop till I'm satisfied...

    Living the life I was born to live, givin it all I have to give...

 

It is not that I am inviting you to live a crazy life, that's not its purpose. Actually, I would more properly translate its meaning in "Walk until you have your legs".

This is my guiding line at the moment, that is what I enjoy doing and... don't tell me there is another way: I wanna rock all night and day.

 

Following this sign, in this last month I have been able to particapate to a series of event leading to the building of a friendship with many of you that... finally it's what I like to call ENERGY.

   

I didn't quite have time to reorder bags from China Travel and... look at what happened: French Revolution was brought to Milan!!!

 

 

It's quite a long since y last post on my blog.

In Italy we use to say that so  much water has passed under the bridge since that monent.

 

Now I am here in almost the other part of the world, for sure the other part of culture. ;)

What can I say about this amazing city?

You would't even imagine how it looks like but... I will tell you: modern, crazy in osme ways, chaotic most of all, beautiful in her center, various and disappointing in some ways (reach people in contrast with very poor one).

I just got back today in the old Torino after a week of holidays in Munchen.

Could you even imagine what does the atmosphere smells like there?

Maybe not!

Let me help you with some pictures I took while wondering trough the city and in particular in the Olympia park where they show all football matches in huge screens.

 

You would get surprised seeing how many Local people have supported Italy team until now... well,... tomorrow is another day but the fight is between 2 great teams. 2 out of the best 4 i n the world actually.

Surprise, surprise! It’s 4 am and I can’t sleep! After turning around in this comfortable bad over a million times, I decide to anticipate the beginning of my first complete day here:

get up at 4 a.m.!

 

I am writing some notes with my laptop and soon I’ll be searching for a fast food for having breakfast.

 

What they call a Deluxe Breakfast in McDonald's is a very mixture of USA food: we can find stuff raging from Hamburgher to maple tree syrup Pankakes. It's amazing to find myself able to eat all of that stuff (am I becoming US-like after a day only?).

The interesting thing here is that they provide some sort of prepaid Mc-cards you can use instead of Credit Cards.

Man, it looks like it is quite impossible to reach a cash advance for gaining US Dollars trough American Express. Lucky me that my company has mandatory policies forcing to use Amex for everything. Who said the don't accept VISA? They actually accept only VISA and MASTERCARD; let's go on.

Well, for those who didn't believe it, I ifnally got the prove.

Time to go to work right now (actually it is quite early in the morning); and... hey...

would you believe me if I now can say I am proud of being a Motorola?

You would agree with me if you had the occasion to take a look at this head queartier; what we got here is a building just in the middle of almost nothing, sorrounded by green trees and, guess what, a big parking lot. Just for having an idea you could compare it to the space sourrounding our major Stadio in torino: the Stadio Delle Alpi.

 

That's only the very beginning of my surprise; if outside the building is big, inside if possible is greater! Oh gosh, there is the day care for the little children of my colleagues... no, that's not true, I'm sure I got the wrong plane and instead of landing in Chicago, I lent in Orlando and went to Walt Disney World.

Inside the building everything is perfect: just imagine the headquartiers of a reasearch center you can see in US movies... that's all true.

 

Ok, now I can definitively lose my senses: they have a Game Room with pool (not one, they got 2!!!, ping pong tables and calcetto (I'll ask how they call it in english).

 

My first working day here.

The alarm rings at the very same time of a normal working day but, guess what? Today I am not rushing to my office in Turin: a Taxi is waiting at 9 o’clock to bring me to the airport. And my travel to Chicago begins!

Tiredness is everywhere in my body because, well, I didn’t sleep that much last night: no, it’s not because of the excitement; it is much more simply a matter of time: I went to bed late.

 

First step of the travel is the flight to Frankfurt: I haven’t quite noticed the departure because I got asleep as soon as I sat down and it is already time to land.

No time to realize I was traveling that I suddenly arrive in Frankfurt Airport! That’s a big one and since my next flight will be in 3 hours, my first thought is dedicated to Lufthansa lounge room: there I can entertain myself; you wouldn’t even guess what is the satisfaction tin being a Business traveler with Business tickets (enjoy!).

The room is very comfortable, sits and cubicles are waiting for me and I don’t let them wait. Sweets and entries are available for free just there. If I like anything to drink or eat the only thing I have to do is get up and pick it up. Now let me read what happened yesterday: Ferrari is again at the top in the European Formula 1 championship; let’s go Schumi! Juventus will be probably winning the national championship: still 3 points ahead of Milan.

 

While I‘m sitting here, they come some interesting people…BME recordings stuff: haven’t you ever heard about Black Eyed Peas? Well, I’m just sitting in front of their singer but at the moment I will leave him with his privacy; no pics: his body guard is not that small.

 

What an illness internet is… as soon as I grab a free place ad the internet point I run and win a free connection. Here a shared PC let me have some Email check and, mostly, some chat with my friends. They are all a bit surprised seeing me connected (they knew I was going to fly today) but, you know, for the Power of Internet, The Power is with Me. But now just let me have a rest in the bathroom; the surprising Auto-cleaning bathroom.

It’s almost 4pm; I better get nearer to my gate to Chicago: number 62. There they give me a present: a card for 30 minutes free internet connection… from the fly! I am a bit excited about that: Internet is really everywhere! I hope I’ll be able to use that despite the firewalls in my laptop.

At time being I am at about 11 km up in the air, trying to get connected to the wireless network (it doesn’t look like it’s an easy thing to be done and… maybe local firewalls prevent me to get connected?).

Well, I am just in the middle of a dream. It’s hard trying to explain the feeling being here in this kind of amusement called “business class”. My sit has almost everything you can imagine. I have Shiatsu massage, the position can be changed to almost anything I want, movies, music, games a go-go and... last but not least, the dinner (what can I say about the football shaped butter? [see picture4 at the bottom]). Wine, Australian one each time I want; everything is quite perfect. I have just seen a science-fiction movie. Currently I am listening to Japanese music and I think Morpheus will grab me in a few minutes. Some sleep is needed, definitively. I am a little bit tired, really….

 

 

The last movie that I will have on this flight is Chicken Little: a quite amusing one with a science fiction component I couldn’t foresee (I loved the little orange 3-eyes alien).

 

After a little beat the captain of the aircraft warns us we’ll be landing in half an hour. It’s time to compile the immigration modules and put everything together with order so that I don’t leave anything here. The immigration process is quite long; I can’t believe it, they made it more complicated since last time I came here in 1999: now there is a triple check and they even take your digital finger tips and place a picture to your tired face.

 

Outside of the airport, well… it is just an airport. About 10 minutes separate me from the shuttle who will carry to the AVIS rental car where (oh no, they told be it is a bad one!) they give me a Malibu! Actually it is not that bad: I and the car have a good relationship since the beginning: there is the automatic gear change, a good steering wheel (many, many buttons inside) and, most important, the CD player (I’ll have to check if it is mp3 compatible). It takes me about 40 minutes to reach Libertyville driving trough the 45 Highway; it’s quite easy here, just pay attention to the speed limits which range form about 20 to 45 at maximum.

 

Now what I really want is a bed where to put my tired body and try to sleep. I will think about the accommodations and the rest of the stuff tomorrow.

One year later...

some may say I can add a spring to my curriculum, others would try to find out anything interesting to be said, most of people just let me have an happy birthday.

Some weeks ago I met a girl who described me the attitude of a particular australian tribe: they are not used to celebrate birthday; people may claim the have to make a party when they got better man, woman for any kind of reason which has to be judged by the ancient of the tribe. Only if their are recognized in their growth, they are allowed to have party.

 

There was no meaning to me to celebrate my 32 years on the 3rd of April: I just got older. At the same time I went with myself in a journey trough these passed 356 days and discovered that, yes, I could celebrate something else.

 

This change is mostly due to 3 kind of factors:

my friends - some of you really helped me to find out what real friendship may reach. Thank You... it really comes from my heart

 

music - my first hobby and, as I use to say, one of the reasons of my life. You gave me power

My Passion for Oriental lands  - Japan there I found out myself with myself and kicked my ass. China... am I coming?

Hello Japan Cartoon fan!

Last week was one of the most fulfilled ones...

after the recording session on Saturday, Sunday was the turn of Cartoomics.

This trade fair held in Milano grabbed my overall day attention: I was happy to participate as a fan of the cos-player competition, there in the first available places just in front of the stage. Being so near,  it sounds like you are inside the show. Please feel free to take a look at the pics I have posted onthis blog; even though they are just an example of what you can find there, they are pretty good to introduce  you to this world.
